Collection: Chilblains

What are Chilblains?

Chilblains, also known as pernio, are small, itchy, and swollen patches of skin that develop after exposure to cold and damp conditions. They commonly affect the fingers, toes, ears, and nose, leading to redness, inflammation, and, in severe cases, blistering or ulceration. Chilblains occur due to an abnormal response in blood circulation when exposed to cold, causing small blood vessels to constrict too quickly and then expand, leading to irritation and discomfort.

Supporting circulation, reducing inflammation, and strengthening capillaries can help prevent and relieve chilblains naturally.
