Collection: Earwax Build-Up
What is Earwax Build-Up?
Earwax (cerumen) is a natural substance produced by the ear to protect and clean the ear canal. However, excessive earwax can sometimes accumulate, leading to blockages, discomfort, hearing loss, dizziness, or even ear pain. This may occur due to overproduction of wax, improper cleaning methods (such as using cotton swabs), or narrow ear canals that trap wax more easily.
Managing earwax build-up naturally involves softening the wax to allow it to exit the ear naturally without causing irritation or damage.
Natural Support for Earwax Build-Up
To help soften and remove excess earwax safely, our practitioners recommend:
- Castor Oil – A natural lubricant and softener, castor oil helps loosen hardened earwax, making it easier to drain from the ear canal while also providing antimicrobial properties.
How to Use Castor Oil for Earwax Removal
- Warm a few drops of castor oil slightly (ensure it’s not too hot).
- Tilt your head to the side and apply 2–3 drops into the affected ear.
- Let it sit for a few minutes before tilting your head the other way to allow the wax to drain out.
- Gently wipe the outer ear with a clean cloth.
Supporting Ear Health Naturally
A holistic approach to ear hygiene includes avoiding cotton swabs, keeping the ears dry, staying hydrated, and using gentle natural remedies to prevent excessive wax buildup.
Important Note
While natural remedies can help clear earwax safely, do not attempt earwax removal if you suspect an ear infection or a perforated eardrum. If symptoms persist, worsen, or cause significant hearing loss, consult a healthcare professional for safe removal
