Collection: Scabies

What is Scabies?

Scabies is a highly contagious skin condition caused by a microscopic mite called Sarcoptes scabiei. These mites burrow into the skin, laying eggs and causing intense itching, rashes, and inflammation. Scabies spreads through close personal contact, shared clothing, or bedding and is common in crowded environments.
Although not life-threatening, scabies can be extremely uncomfortable and, if left untreated, can lead to secondary skin infections from scratching.

Symptoms of Scabies

Intense itching, especially at night
Red bumps, rashes, or blisters (often in webs of fingers, wrists, waist, and underarms)
Thin, wavy lines on the skin (burrows made by mites)
Sores from scratching
Crusted or scaly skin (in more severe or long-term cases)
